In most countries and states there is usually a regulation or laws obliging the stage hypnotist to first obtain a performance licence [license]where the exhibition of the performance is to take place in public.
The hypnosis induction techniques used by the stage hypnotist are different from those used by the practising hypnotherapist.
A hypnotherapist can use the stage hypnotists’ techniques in certain special circumstances, however they are usually avoided because the dramatic effects are usually felt to be an unwelcome event by the subject who has come to the hypnotherapist for some tender loving care!
Equally, because the stage hypnotist wants to entertain rather have his show taken up with time consuming trance inductions they do use a set of somewhat direct procedures.
